DIRECTIONS TO HSEC
Our shelter is located at 255 Central Plank Road (Hwy 9), Wetumpka, AL 36092. We are about 17 miles northeast of Montgomery just off of Hwy 231 North. We are located on Hwy 9 just off of its intersection with Hwy 231.
From Montgomery - take Hwy 231 north through Wetumpka. As you stay on 231 to the north side of town, you will cross through a large, traffic-lighted intersection where Hwy 14 crosses Hwy 231. A landmark as you go through this intersection is Russell Do-It-Yourself Center on the right. Stay on 231 north to the next intersection which is a three way, traffic-lighted intersection of Hwy 9 and Hwy 231. Hwy 9 goes off to the right towards Santuck and Central. Veer to the right onto Hwy 9 and our shelter is about a tenth of a mile on the left. Note - if you end up passing the Julia Tutwiller Prison for Women on the right side of Hwy 231 you have missed the turn off onto Hwy 9.
From north of Wetumpka coming south on Hwy 231 - as you are coming south on Hwy 231, you will pass the Julia Tutwiller Prison for Women on your left and the Elmore County Judicial Complex on your right, right before you come to the lighted intersection of Hwy 231 and Hwy 9. Turn left at the light onto Hwy 9 (north) towards Santuck and Central and our shelter is about a tenth of a mile on the left.
