WHY SPAY & NEUTER?

WHY SPAY/NEUTER WORKS!
-It increases the lifespan of your pet.
  • Life expectancy of neutered male dogs was 13.8-18% longer and that of spayed female dogs was 23-26.3% longer.
  • Spayed female cats lived 39% longer and neutered male cats lived 62% longer.
  • WHY? Altered pets are less likely to roam or get in fights with other animals; reduces the risk of uterine infection (pyometra) in females and certain types of cancers (mammary, testicular, uterine, prostatic hyperplasia)
-Curbs unwanted behaviors.
  • Marking/Spraying by both males and females
  • In-heat behaviors such as yowling/vocalizing, rolling and demanding behaviors
  • Certain types of aggressive behavior.
  • Roaming, especially when females are in heat.
  • Excessive barking and mounting activity.
-Eliminates the worry of an unwanted litter.
  • Shelters and rescues are absolutely overloaded with unwanted puppies and kittens
  • Saves money due to reduced medical costs for injury/disease and the cost of feeding more puppies and kittens
  • Eliminates trying to deal with the public in finding new homes for a litter
  • Eliminates dealing with your local Shelter/Rescue to surrender a litter
  • Eliminates the health risk/cost to the mother of having a medical emergency during birthing
-Reduces the chance of your pet becoming lost due to roaming because of pets being ‘in-season’
  • This reduces the chance of your pet becoming lost, hit by a car, shot, etc
  • Reduces costs to you of reclaiming your dog at a Shelter
  • Reduces you worrying about your pet not being ‘at home’
  • Reduces the chance of parents having to explain to their children about their pet being ‘gone’
  • Reduces your frustration dealing with unwanted strays and calling authorities to “DO SOMETHING”

BOTTOM LINE – SPAYING/NEUTERING YOUR DOG &/OR CAT HELPS YOUR PET, YOUR FAMILY, YOUR NEIGHBORS AND YOUR COMMMUNITY.
BE A RESPONSIBLE PET OWNER AND PLEASE SPAY OR NEUTER YOUR PET BEFORE THEY CAUSE/HAVE ANY UNWANTED/UNNECESSARY LITTER!
